Oh, hello! I'm JoAnna, resident creative brain!

Excited to see you! Welcome to the online version of my studio.

I love nothing more than getting completely lost in creativity and imagination. You know the kind of lost when you forget to eat and suddenly realize hours have disappeared? That’s my favourite place to be.

​

Right now, my creative focus is photography and design, a pairing that has felt completely natural to me for the last 15 years. Peanut butter and jelly!

​

Photography has always felt a little magical. It captures moments that would otherwise slip away and freezes them in time. It reminds me of sitting around the table flipping through Grama’s photo albums, hearing stories come rushing back with every image. Even years later, photographs can still make us laugh, ache, remember, and feel.

​

And then add design, where the fun really begins. Combining imagery, typography, texture, and storytelling can turn something simple into something deeply meaningful or visually striking. Honestly, there’s no end to the creative rabbit holes I’m willing to wander down!

​

I also love sewing and pottery, although these days they live a little more in the “creative hobby” category until I have the studio space to fully spread out and make a glorious mess! I’ve never believed creativity has to fit neatly into one box. Some people are painters, some are photographers, some are cake decorators and storytellers and collectors of beautiful ideas. I think there’s room for all of it!

​These days, I’m also the proud mom of two amazing daughters and stepmom to two great sons. My husband and I have one of those “found each other later in life” stories, which makes me appreciate this chapter even more.
